“Turn the car around.” – Amanda Kingloff
You may be imagining kids misbehaving when I say, “Turn the car around.” I did too until I attended a session at Alt Summit entitled, “How to Find Your Way to Your Dream Job.” Who doesn’t want their dream job? But anyway, that is not the point of this story. Amanda Kingloff was one of those presenting that day. She told a story about how she was driving home with her family from a vacation and drove by this barn with the most beautiful sleds lined up leaning on it. At first, she just remarked how beautiful it was, but when her husband offered to turn the car around, she said no. But then she thought differently and they turned around. The photo above is the shot she got as a result of turning it around. Isn’t it beautiful? When she posted it, a lot of other people thought so too.
It’s a wonderful metaphor for life. When something strikes you, stop and make the most of it. Take the photo, take someone up on an experience, or even stop at the cool looking coffee shop. There’s probably a reason it caught your eye so next time, turn the car around! Such a great motto for life.
Thanks to Amanda for sharing your inspiration at Alt so I could pass it along here!
