Take a moment and think about the stories you’re telling yourself. Are they really true? Do you even want them to be true? For example, I’ll give you my own:
“I’m really busy trying to do so many things. Trying to juggle a corporate job, a blog, a podcast, and spending time with my family makes it too hard to be able to have healthy meals and exercise too. I don’t have time to take care of myself. Maybe when the girls are older.”
What if I changed my story?
“I am capable of handling so many things. I’m so proud that I’ve figured out how to manage all of these things. My health and my family’s health is a big priority and I’ll keep trying until I figure out the best way to fit it all in.”
How different do those sound to you? Nothing else changed except my mindset, but now I feel like I can keep tackling these things without my inner monologue telling me it’s too hard or not the right time.
Take some time to really listen to what you believe about yourself. Is it really true or can you turn it into something else entirely?
