Who doesn’t love a good recap or “where are they now” post? We know we do, so we decided to do the same for you! In this update we are going to answer some questions we’ve been getting from friends and family on our previous posts. Want to know anything else? Just ask!
For Becca & Tiffany:
Have you continued with any of the “Fitness First” exercises such as trapeze or YouTube workouts?
B: Some but not all. I haven’t done trapeze again (though want to!) or yoga in a studio, though I have continued with the yoga inspired videos on the JessicaSmithTV YouTube channel. I’ve been back to barre and plan to go at least a few times a month. I also am now addicted to the FitnessBlender YouTube channel.
T: Yup! I’ve gone back to the studio where we did hot vinyasa yoga and even tried a new studio with a more convenient location for me. I also loved the barre class so have gone back there as well, and even tried to a different studio in LA while traveling for work. I’d love to keep doing both yoga and barre classes as part of my regular fitness routine.
Are you both still writing in your Five-Minute Journals? Do you still feel as excited about it as you did in February?
B: Yes! It has become a habit, just part of my daily routine that I look forward to. I am glad to have time set aside to think and reflect.
T: Absolutely! I’ve kept this up every day minus a couple of days when I was really sick. I love having this reflection time and think it makes a big difference in my outlook for the day.
Did you try anything that the other person posted about? What was your experience if so?
B: I have tried to juice using my Vitamix (a serious blender) that I am in love with. So I make more smoothies, less juices. I also have tried a few freezer meals and am very happy with the results. Thinking ahead saves time and helps add variety to my weekly meal planning.
T: Does it count if I sent a card to a friend? If so, then yes. I still need to try mason jar salads, but haven’t yet.
What is the latest with juicing – are you still purchasing juices or did you abandon the trend altogether?
T: This is not part of my regular routine. Every once in awhile, I will pick up some juices from the store, but it is not a regular habit. They’re expensive!
Could you suggest some actual Meditation channels that you’ve used? There are just so many!
T: I have tried out a few apps since my post – Mindfulness and Stop, Breathe, & Think. I like that they both have very short options since it’s easier for me to fit in 5 minutes of meditation than 20 or 30 minutes. It also tracks how often I do it and since I love data, I like that part too of these apps too!
Any new recipes you’ve tried for the Mason Jar salads?
B: Yep! I’ve tried two. I did a version of this Chicken and Spinach recipe, but I used almonds instead of walnuts and added romaine with the spinach. The dressing is very yummy. I also did my take on a taco salad, which included pico de gallo, steak, black beans, yellow pepper, shredded jack cheese, and romaine. I didn’t add a dressing to this one as the juices from the pico de gallo were enough dressing for me.
Do you have suggestions for Spring workout clothes for the upcoming season?
B: I have a few brands I am still trying out (and plan to write a post about soon, not to worry) but I really cannot beat the quality and price of Fabletics. I have these capri workout pants in two colors, and this basic tee has become a wardrobe staple.
